We are excited to announce that CoEFTL members Eugenia Tzoumaka and Stella Leivadi have recently published, along with Kyriaki Kaplanidou, a conference paper titled, “Sport Tourism in the VUCA Era: The Effect of Destination Image on Behavioral Intentions of Active Sport Tourists“. This research, presented at the GMA-GAMMA 2023 conference, explores the impact of destination image on the behavioral intentions of sport tourists, providing valuable insights into the sport tourism industry post-Covid.
The study, which gathered data from 598 participants in a recurring mountain-running event in Southern Europe, underscores the importance of cognitive and affective destination image in influencing the decision of active sport tourists to revisit a destination for both sport and leisure purposes.
