The Center of Excellence in Food, Tourism & Leisure (CoEFTL) recently participated in transformative dialogue at the LIKE-A-PRO Consortium Meeting in Wuppertal, Germany. Our Executive Director, Professor Athanasios Krystallis, joined discussions aimed at revolutionizing Europe’s food system through the exploration of alternative protein sources and understanding consumer behavior. LIKE-A-PRO, backed by the EU’s Horizon Europe program, prioritizes sustainability and addresses critical challenges in the food ecosystem. With partners from 17 countries, the Consortium Meeting served as a platform for fruitful exchanges and strategic planning to achieve project objectives. CoEFTL, representing Greece via the American College of Greece Research Center (ACG-RC), actively contributes to Work Package 4 (WP4), which delves into consumer perspectives and devises strategies for dietary shifts. Through initiatives like the “Meat or Dare!” event, CoEFTL is actively engaging with consumers to grasp their preferences and decision-making processes.
