The 2024 International Summer School for Sustainable Development organized every year by the German universities Heilbronn and Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences spent a day at our Deree campus. This signified one more time the ongoing collaboration of the Center of Excellence in Food, Tourism & Leisure (CoEFTL) with Professor Sebastian Kaiser-Jovy of Heilbronn University who serves as the center’s academic advisor (Leisure area).
The students had an active experience of sport climbing at the Deree Gym with the help of Director Koutras and Deree student and climber George Danakis. Finally, students and faculty joined Stella Leivadi’s class of Olympic Games and Mega Sports Events for a lecture dedicated to the Olympic Games’ symbolism especially through the torch relay which is currently active for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The yearly visit is always dedicated to the celebration of the Olympic Day which is internationally commemorated on June 23rd, the day that The International Olympic Committee was founded in 1894.
